Filip Misolic made it into the top 300 in the ATP world rankings in Zagreb

Currently in ATP rank 301, the Austrian Filip Misolic will find himself in the top 300 of the men's world rankings in the coming week. It remains to be seen how far the only 20-year-old can go forward, because the native of Graz is still in the sand court tournament in Zabreb, which is endowed with almost 46,000 euros. Misolic easily defeated the lucky loser Jungcheng Shang from China 6:2, 6:0 in the round of 16 and in the round of eight he has to deal with local hero Duje Ajdukovic, who made it into the main draw as an alternate.

A win and a loss in doubles

The Styrian had to fight his way through the qualification in the classic way and then won his first round duel against Lukas Lacko from Slovenia surprisingly clearly 6:4, 6:1. Misolic is in the quarterfinals of a Challenger event for the third time in his young career. In 2021, the right-hander made it into the last eight at the home tournament in Tulln and then - also in Croatia - in Losinj.

Also in action in the Croatian capital are Lucas Miedler and Max Neuchrist in doubles. The Lower Austrian and the Viennese won their first game against the British-Dutch pairing Scott Duncan and Mark Vervoort 6: 3, 7: 5 and will meet fourth seeded Adam Pavlasek (Czech Republic) and Igor Zelenay (Slovakia) in the quarter-finals. David Pichler, on the other hand, was eliminated. The Burgenlander had to admit defeat to the side of Poland's Piotr Matuszewski to the Indians Anirudh Chandrasekar / N Vijay Sundar Prashanth 6:2, 3:6, 6:10.
