The field is led by the Spaniard Bernabe Zapata Miralles, who just a few days ago dueled with Alexander Zverev in the round of 16 of the French Open. In addition to numerous young up-and-coming players, there are also many names who were already in the top 100 and want to take the opportunity in Lüdenscheid to return there.

Among others, Marco Cecchinato will start, who reached 16th place in the world rankings in 2019 and already has three titles on the higher-class ATP Tour. Also there will be a wild card for Robin Haase, who has been in the top 100 for many years, and Nicolas Jarry, who reached the final at the inaugural Sauerland Open last year and will now return to win the title this year .

“The German colors will also be well represented at the Sauerland Open. Mats Moraing will serve for the first time in Lüdenscheid, who is currently working towards being one of the hundred best tennis players in the world and wants to collect valuable points at our tournament," said tournament director Rogier Wassen with satisfaction. “This year the quality of the field will be even better than at our tournament premiere. The fans can look forward to eight exciting days! Other German players will also be there.”
