One more win, then Tristan-Samuel Weissborn can look forward to the first triumph in a doubles tournament on the ATP tour. The Austrian and his Slovakian partner Andrej Martin will have to defeat either the number one seeded pair Andres Molteni and Santiago Gonzalez or the two Argentinians Guillermo Duran and Maximo Gonzalez. Weissborn/Martin have already completed their semi-final tasks with a 3:6, 6:3 and 10:6 against Roberto Carballes Baena and Jaume Munar.

The Austrian left-hander is currently in 120th place in the doubles world rankings (he was 77th in 2017). Weissborn could use the 250 points from Cordoba to get a starting place in larger tournaments in the future through his ranking .

In 2016 Tristan-Samuel Weissborn had already sniffed Grand Slam air, even survived a round at the US Open together with Dominic Thiem before it was over against Jeremy Chardy and Sam Groth.
