Tristan-Samuel Weissborn suffered a defeat in the doubles final of the ATP Tour event in Cordoba

Nothing should (yet) happen with the first ATP Tour title for Tristan Samuel-Weissborn: The Austrian suffered a defeat with his Slovakian partner Andrej Martin in the final of the ATP World Tour 250 event in Cordoba. The two lost after 1:17 hours of play against Argentina's top seeded pairing Santiago Gonzalez (Mexico) and local hero Andres Molteni 5:7 and 3:6.

Already 17 achievements at Challenger level

The strong service provided by the number one team in the final was decisive. Gonzalez/Molteni were able to fend off four out of five breakballs and won 75 percent of the points on their own serve. Weissborn and Martin can still be more than satisfied with their performance, as the two only slipped into the doubles main field at the last minute as "alternates".

Weissborn, who focused on team competitions early in his career due to lung problems, has already won 17 tournaments at Challenger level, including one in October last year in Losinj (Croatia) with Andrej Martin. With the 125 final points earned, the Korneuburger climbed to position 110 in the ATP doubles ranking.
