The man of the hour in German tennis? Certainly Alexander Zverev , who after his Olympic victory in Tokyo has now also shown big in Cincinnati. But then Daniel Altmaier has to be mentioned, who plays a very strong summer. The 22-year-old's successful run began at the ATP Challenger tournament in Braunschweig, which Altmaier won without losing a set. In Umag he reached the semifinals of the 250cc there as well as a week later at the Generali Open in Kitzbühel.

Today, Sunday, Altmaier now has the chance in Lüdenscheid to get even closer to the top 100. He is currently at position 122 in the ATP charts, a new career high on Monday with position 114 is already fixed after the semi-final success against Juan Manuel Cerundolo on Saturday, should Altmaier win the final against Nicolas Jarry, he would already be in position 105.

Altmaier overtakes Kohlschreiber

And thus in regions in which one could almost plan with a main field place at the Grand Slam tournaments.
