ATP Doha: Wawrinka opens against Chardy or qualifiers, Rublev and Tsonga also at the start
Stan Wawrinka is at the top of the ATP 250 tournament in Doha. On the way to the title, the Swiss could face many possible stumbling blocks.

Tennis will not only be played at the ATP Cup next week. While the women could choose between three tournaments in Shenzhen, Auckland and Brisbane , the men of creation had little room for such considerations apart from the new team competition: in the coming week, an ATP event will only take place in Doha.
The event in Qatar does not have to hide, however. With Stan Wawrinka , Andrey Rublev, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Milos Raonic, prominent names appear in the tableau of the 250 event.
Wawrinka vs. Raonic in the semifinals?
The top seeded Wawrinka in Doha as well as Rublev, Tsonga and Raonic enjoy a walk-through in the first round. Then it goes against Jeremy Chardy or a qualifier before Adrian Mannarino, the first seeded player, could wait. There could be a duel with Raonic in the semifinals.
In addition to Rublev and Tsonga with Frances Tiafoe and Laslo Djere, there are two other players with great potential in the lower half of the table. The ATP 250 tournament begins on January 6th. The grand finale in Doha will take place on Saturday, January 11th.
