Somewhat surprised you were left behind when you looked into Estoril, Portugal, where an ATP 250 event had taken place these days. Because it wasn't Denis Shapovalov who stormed into the final in Portugal, no, Albert Ramos-Vinolas against Cameron Norrie was the name of the surprising final constellation at the ATP 250 event on Sunday afternoon.

Meanwhile, the outsider Cameron Norrie got the better start into the final. The Briton managed the decisive break more in the first round - with 6: 4 Norrie got the set advantage. However, this did not last long, Ramos-Vinolas visibly took over command in the second round - and managed to equalize the set with 6: 3.

Set three goes into the tiebreaker

In the third round it was the routine of the 33-year-old Spaniard that ultimately tipped the scales over this final. In an extremely tight and especially exciting third set, a tiebreaker had to decide who won the title in Estoril. With the better end for Ramos-Vinolas, who was finally able to prevail 7: 3.

It is the third career title for Albert Ramos-Vinolas, who currently ranks 46th on the ATP charts. The 33-year-old won in Gstaad in 2019, and Ramos-Vinolas won his debut title in Bastad in 2016.
