Félix Auger-Aliassime is reorienting itself

Félix Auger-Aliassime is still employed in Paris-Bercy today, surprisingly, however, in doubles, where he first defeated the first pair of Robert Farah and Horacio Zeballos in the round of 16 alongside Hubert Hurkacz. And after a success against John Peers and Michael Venus on Saturday, Lukasz Kubot and Marcelo Melo also got out of the way. Auger-Aliassime and Hurkacz are in the final, waiting for the winner between Jürgen Melzer / Edouard Roger-Vasselin and Mate Pavic / Bruno Soares.

In the singles, the 20-year-old Canadian had to admit defeat to Marin Cilic right from the start. In Paris, too, the first tournament success of Auger-Aliassime, which failed in three finals this year: in Rotterdam to Gael Monfils, in Marseille to Stefanos Tsitsipas and most recently in Cologne to Alexander Zverev. In 2019, Auger-Aliassime had again drawn the short straw in three finals.

That should be different in 2021. But no longer together with long-term coach Guillaume Marx. The collaboration between Auger-Aliassime will not continue after this season. You part on good terms, the Canadian youngster reported on Twitter. And that Frederic Fontang would continue to work by his side.

Not only Auger-Aliassime is changing his environment: the collaboration between David Goffin and Thomas Johansson is no longer continued.
