Daniil Medvedev and hard court - that just fits

It would of course be completely presumptuous to claim that Daniil Medvedev is for Hertplatz tennis what Rafael Nadal is for clay court tennis - the 27-year-old from Moscow would also be missing at least 13 Grand Slam titles on his favorite surface . However, hardly any other player knows how to play the mixture of acrylic, rubber and silicon better than the fifth in the world rankings.

And by taking part in the final of the well-rewarded Combined event in Miami, the Russian with his unconventional hitting movements has now also completed his personal hard-court checklist. "Meddy" was at least once in the final of all important tournaments on the same surface during his not so long career.

When listed, the achievements of the 1.98 meter man are even more impressive:

So while there is still room for improvement in the tournaments at the beginning of the year - Medvedev has already lifted all the trophies at least once in the events before, after and including the US Open. It only remains to be seen whether the ex-world number one will be able to play successfully on sand and grass surfaces in the future.
