Zverev got off to a good start against the Argentinian and quickly took a 5-1 lead. However, the thread broke completely from nowhere in the German and so Delbonis was able to compensate for the 5: 5. Through this long detour, the fifth in the world rankings managed to win the set 7-5, but the German's performance was not convincing.

A similar picture emerged in the second sentence. Zverev made the break to 4: 2, but had to accept an immediate rebreak and lost the round with 6: 8 in the tie-break - even though he had previously been missing only two points to win the match at 5: 4.

The 22-year-old appeared to be a bit flat due to his long match in the quarterfinals against Hugo Dellien , but benefited from many mistakes of his opponent at the beginning of the third section and took Delbonis' serve up to 2-1. Unlike in the previous two sets, Zverev no longer gave up the lead, made another break and took the hard-fought 7: 5, 6: 7 (6) and 6: 3 victory.

All in all, it was again a weak performance by the youngster who made massive, uncommon mistakes. Nevertheless: The final entry should give the top seed for the French Open starting on Sunday self-confidence. In the final of the 250 tournament on Saturday, however, Zverev will face Nicolas Jarry, who clearly defeated Radu Albot in the semifinals.
