Alexander Zverev tries his luck in Geneva, Switzerland, the week before Paris

In the week before the French Open, Alexander Zverev tries to gain momentum for the clay court highlight at the preparatory tournament in Geneva. The weak Olympic champion from Hamburg accepted a wild card for the ATP tournament in Switzerland. The organizers announced this on Thursday. Zverev triumphed in Geneva in 2019.

Good omen for Paris?

After his ankle injury at Roland Garros last year, Zverev is looking for his top form. At the Masters in Rome he was eliminated in the round of 16, in Paris (from May 28th) the former world number two will only start as an outsider this time.

Four years ago, Zverev started in Geneva after a disappointing clay court season and won the title after several close matches. Later he also convinced in Paris and only lost there in the quarterfinals against the Serbian Novak Djokovic.
