Casper Ruud is in the semifinals of the ATP clay court tournament in Geneva, where he meets the American Reilly Opelka

Tennis fans in Geneva can look forward to a top-class semi-final: Casper Ruud and Reilly Opelka won their quarter-finals at the ATP clay court tournament in southwestern Switzerland. The Norwegian defeated the Australian Thanasi Kokkinakis 6:4, 7:6 (3) in a very exciting two-set game and is thus in his fourth semi-final this season (after Buenos Aires, Miami and Rome).

The American Reilly Opelka had already won his quarterfinals. The serve chickens from the state of Michigan, seeded fourth in the French part of Switzerland, defeated the Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor after just over an hour and a half 6: 4, 3: 6, 6: 3. Opelka has already won the clay court tournament in Houston this season. In the head-to-head of the two semi-finalists, the Scandinavian is clearly 3-0 up.

The other semi-final pairing will not be determined until the evening. In addition, Frenchman Richard Gasquet and Pole Kamil Majchrzak meet in the quarter-finals before Russian Ilya Ivashka has to deal with Portuguese Joao Sousa.

Here the single tableau from Geneva.
