Filip Misolic won a lot in 2021 - and scored few points

Filip Misolic is currently at position 350 in the ATP world rankings, the 20-year-old Austrian has shown some remarkable achievements this season, such as at the ATP Challenger in Tulln, where he defeated the former semi-finalist in Roland Garros Marco Cecchinato in three sets. The trips to the second level of the professional tennis circus should increase for Misolic, also with the help of the Austrian legend Jürgen Melzer, who is currently training with Misolic on a trial basis.

Misolic has won five events on the ITF tour this year, three of them 15,000 and two 25,000. That earned a total of 70 points for the ATP charts, a tired reward for a lot of hard work. This should get better from the beginning of 2022: Then a title in the ITF 15k category will be rewarded with 15 points, a success at an ITF 25k event with 25 points. In the case of Misolic's tournament wins, that would be 35 more than before.

ATP agrees to revaluation

For comparison: That would be just as many points as a semi-final entry, for example in the currently running Challenger in Roanne, France. And there were capacities like Benoit Paire and Richard Gasquet at the start.

The ATP has not yet officially announced the upgrading of the ITF tournaments, but well-informed circles have already communicated this via social media. Also as a motivational injection for the players on the ITF tour. It is still unclear whether the WTA will participate in the changes.
