Grigor Dimitrov is known to have had the greatest success in 2019 as a self-taught artist: the Bulgarian was on his own when making his way to the semi-finals of the US Open. His coaches Andre Agassi and Radek Stepanek kept in touch with their protégé by phone. The liaison with US star Agassi was basically rather loose, Stepanek already had more active input. After the end of the season but also this combination was history.

Christian Groh should now ensure that the comeback of Dimitrov in the world's top continues in the coming year. Groh took care of Tommy Haas a few years ago, leading the long-standing German number one to the titles in Halle in 2012 and the following season in Munich and Vienna. After Groh has taken care of, among others, the US up-and-comers Taylor Fritz.

Dimitrov against Goffin

Dimitrov will start his year 2020 as leader of the Bulgarian team in the ATP Cup. Bulgaria meets Britain, Belgium and Republic of Moldova in Sydney. Dimitrov will probably play against David Goffin, Cameron Norrie and Radu Albot.
