Dennis Novak presented himself strongly in Gstaad

Dennis Novak's strong performance in the round of 16 of the ATP Tour 250 tournament in Gstaad was not rewarded: Novak was on par in the second set against Casper Ruud, who was third, but ultimately lost just 4: 6 and 6: 7 (5). The loss of the tie break in round two was particularly annoying: The only mini break came about after a rally that Novak had actually dictated. Ruud, in turn, took advantage of the small lead - and won with a strong serve. The Norwegian continues to ride a wave of success: last week he won the tournament in Bastad.

Dennis Novak is now on to Kitzbühel, where he received a wildcard for the Generali Open as well as compatriot Alexander Erler. Casper Ruud is also expected in the Tyrolean Unterlang. But he still has at least one job ahead of him in Gstaad.
