It will be the sixth meeting between Thiem and Berrettini, the Italian is just ahead in the direct record with 3-2 wins. The two have only faced each other once on sand: in 2018 at the very first match in Roland Garros. Thiem won in four sets back then.
While Dominic Thiem is about his first title after his comeback in Marbella in the spring, Berrettini wants to continue his almost unbelievable series: Before the Wimbledon tournament, the Italian had won the grass events in Stuttgart and London's Queen's Club .
