ATP hall: Medvedev, Tsitsipas, Federer, Zverev? The Betway favorites check

Can you actually bet against Roger Federer in Halle? Not really: The Swiss has won ten times on the Westphalian lawn, the last time in the 2019 edition (the tournament did not take place in 2020 due to the corona pandemic.)

Daniil Medvedev is top seed, but he has not yet been noticed as a lawn god. A semi-final in Eastbourne in 2017 and one in Queen's in 2019 were the highest of feelings for the hard court lover. Medvedev also meets a tough opponent in round 1: Jan-Lennard Struff, who enjoys home advantage.

Stefanos Tsitsipas is number 2 of the tournament, but will probably not arrive fresh in Halle after the final of the French Open. Will you have enough strength to walk through and switch to grass? It's one of the bigger questions before a tournament starts.

Alexander Zverev first and foremost has to process the disappointment over the five-set defeat against Stefanos Tsitsipas in the semifinals in Paris. Zverev can offer excellent tennis on grass, has already played in the final twice in Halle, but lost to Florian Mayer in 2016 and to Roger Federer in 2017. Zverev starts as number three against Dominik Koepfer, would meet either Federer or Medvedev in the semifinals.

Andrey Rublev is number 4 in Halle, and he has shown in the past few months especially in the 500 tournaments, in 2021 he last won in Rotterdam. In Wimbledon he has not yet made it through round 2, in Halle there is at least a quarter-final: In 2017 he lost his current opponent Karen Khachanov in three sets in the round of the last eight.

Roger Federer , the lawn whisperer, has improved steadily since his comeback, after mediocre appearances in Doha and Geneva he showed with three wins in Paris that he hits the ball properly again. But does the body also play a part in several matches in a row?

All odds for the ATP Tour 500 tournament in Halle are available from betway.
