Hard work for the last German in the tournament. After 1:55, Zverev converted the second match ball of the game. With a good service in the first set, Jarry had no chances. In the middle of the first set, the native of Hamburg was unable to take advantage of three break chances.

The second set then became clear all the faster: Zverev immediately managed the break and made it 3-0. Jarry, who now had to put in a lot more effort to get into the game, was chasing a deficit from the start that Zverev was no longer able to give up. Zverev continued to serve stably, but gave his opponent break opportunities in the seventh game to fight his way back into the match. Even after repeated deeds, he kept his faith in his serve and made it 5:2. Zverev then served to the match when the score was 5: 3 and gave Nicolas Jarry another chance for a break. Despite many second serves, Zverev got out of the situation again and ended the match as the winner.
