According to Darren Cahill, Roger Federer should return to the tour at the Australian Open

Especially in today's social media age, you have to be more than careful with information you get from the Internet. In addition to the daily reach and the associated advertising income, things like personal craving for recognition should not be underestimated when it comes to “global news”. The sports sector in particular is overflowing with unconfirmed rumors, fake news and expressions of opinion that are more wishing to be the father of thoughts than to be based on true facts.

Darren Cahill made people sit up and take notice on “Sportsday” on Australian radio with a statement that is wonderful to hear but hard to believe: “The Australian Open will be full of great stories. Apparently Roger [Federer] will play too, I know he's working hard on himself right now and we're pretty sure he'll come and play the Australian Open. "

It is hard to imagine such rapid rehabilitation

But how realistic is it that the former number one will actually intervene in the tournament "down under"? We remember - in August of this year the "Maestro" had to undergo knee surgery for the third time within 18 months. Even if Federer reported in September - mind you still on crutches - about the good and gratifying progress in recovery, it is difficult to imagine such a rapid rehabilitation after knee surgery.

On the other hand: The three superstars Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and also “FedEx” can be trusted to do just about anything. "Rafa" has already reported back after his foot injury, and if "Nole" gets the necessary stitch ... You can still dream - you just can't expect too much.
