Daniil Medvedev is not necessarily satisfied with the conditions in Indian Wells

Actually, Daniil Medvedev could have been quite satisfied with his working day. In the duel with Ilya Ivashka, the Russian finally got his ticket for the round of 16 without any problems - a slightly carelessly awarded second set or not. What counts is getting into the next round.

The Russian sees it a bit differently. Because from the end of the second sentence he complained quite boisterously about the place in the Californian desert. And continued to do so in the press conference after his win.

"It was very tough, it's not easy to play here, although the conditions are the same for everyone," said the Russian after his three-set win. And emphasized that this would drastically narrow the field of potential title candidates. "There are 10 players who have the quality, although I won't say which ones to play well here because they have skills that can help them."

Medvedev against Zverev

In general, the players in California would fight, but at the end of the day there would be many clear sentences - for which only nuances are responsible. "You can see a lot of sets 6-1, but when you watch it on TV you see that the other isn't playing badly, it's just moments." He also didn't really show fundamentally different performances in sentences two and three.

In the round of 16, Medvedev is now up against returnee Zverev. An exciting task, as the Russian points out: "Here I think it will be a little less important, but I'm sure we will have a lot of rallies. It will depend on who has the upper hand after those 20 goals, who throws his opponent off balance. I know he's coming back from his injury, he's getting better, but he's not where he left off."
