ATP Indian Wells: Dominic Thiem and Casper Ruud fail at the start due to Nikola Mektic and Mate Pavic

Even in a duet with Casper Ruud, Dominic Thiem was not granted a win at the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Indian Wells: The Lichtenwörth and the Norwegian finally had to clear the four seeded Croatian couple Nikola Mektic and Mate Pavic at the start of the doubles competition with 3rd place :6, 3:6 beaten.
The South Slavic duo is by no means a blank slate in doubles tennis - Pavic was able to win a total of five Grand Slam tournaments (with Oliver Marach, among others). Together with Mektic, they even won the Olympics at the 2021 Summer Games in Tokyo.
