In the second set, old master Richard Gasquet made it really difficult for young Jannik Sinner - but in the end the South Tyrolean made it into the third round of the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Indian Wells. Sinner prevailed after 1:34 hours with 6: 3, 7: 6 (2) and now meets either the Thiem conqueror Adrian Mannarino or the Italian Lorenzo Musetti, who was 19th.
Was the game in the first set still a clear affair for the current world number 13. the 36-year-old Frenchman upped the ante in the second round, repeatedly threatening the Italian with his beautiful tennis. Sinner saved himself in the tie-break - but Gasquet didn't stand a chance in the short decision.
