ATP Los Cabos: Daniil Medvedev and Cameron Norrie in the final
World number one Daniil Medvedev is about to win his first tournament of the year. The 26-year-old Russian defeated Miomir Kecmanovic 7: 6 (0), 6: 1 in the semi-finals of Los Cabos and now meets British Cameron Norrie in the final.

In the end, Daniil Medvedev only really had to stretch himself against the Serb Miomir Kecmanovic in the first set, after the flawless tie-break - the world number one decided this for himself without losing a point - the resistance of the 22-year-old Serb was broken. With 7: 6 (0) and 6: 1, the Russian finally bought his ticket for the ATP 250 event in Los Cabos.
"It was a very tough game," said Medvedev after the game against Kecmanovic: "He started great and the whole first set was at a great level. So many difficult points, so many points where I felt like I was going to... having to cross the border." With his fourth participation in the final in 2022, it is also clear that Medvedev will tackle his title defense project at the US Open, which begins at the end of the month, as number one.
Norrie surprises against Auger-Aliassime
Medvedev was not allowed to serve at the classic lawn in Wimbledon due to the sanctions against Russian professionals, but he will again be one of the favorites at the fourth Grand Slam of the year in New York from August 29th. Last year, Medvedev defeated Novak Djokovic in the final and celebrated the first Grand Slam success of his career.
In the final, Medvedev will now face British Cameron Norrie - last year's winner in Los Cabos. The 26-year-old broke a curse that had lasted for four matches in the semi-finals and kept the upper hand for the first time against Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime with 6: 4, 3: 6 and 6: 3. It's the fourth finale of the season for Norrie, who has a career title number five opportunity.
