Altmaier could reach his first quarter-finals in a Masters tournament - crazy, because the Kempener had only slipped into the field as a lucky loser. But then victories against Oscar Otte and Yannick Hanfmann followed. The 25-year-old Munar will know the public behind him.
In a direct comparison, the Spaniard leads 1-0 - he won against Altmaier in four sets in Roland Garros last year. (They had already met twice at Challenger and Future level, and Munar had won here too.)
