Nick Kygios was just able to prevent a botched dress rehearsal for Wimbledon on Mallorca: after losing the opening set 7: 5 against the Serb Laslo Djere, the Australian was under pressure for long stretches of the second set, but saved himself in the tie-break after defending against a few break chances. In this, however, the 27-year-old showed his best tennis and scored 7: 1 on 1: 1 sets.

In section three the same picture as in round two: Djere felt a little closer to the break than his opponent, but Kyrgios made it into a tie-break again. And again the man from Canberra found his best tennis in this, showed himself to be highly concentrated and fixed the three-set win with another 7:1. In the round of 16 we now face Roberto Bautista Agut.

Altmaier in the round of 16 against Baez

Daniel Altmaier also reached the round of 16 at the ATP tournament in Mallorca. The 23-year-old from Kempen prevailed in his opening match against the Serb Dusan Lajovic 7: 5, 7: 6 (7: 2) and now meets the Argentinian Sebastian Baez, who was eighth.

For Altmaier, who is the only German player on the Balearic island, it was the first win of the short grass season after two bankruptcies. He had already lost in the first round at both the tournament in Halle and in Stuttgart.

Here is the draw from Mallorca!
