ATP Marseille: Medvedev too strong for Sinner, Ebden shocks Khachanov
Tournament favorite Daniil Medvedev has moved into the semifinals of the ATP Tour 250 tournament in Marseille. There the Russian meets Matthew Ebden .

Medvedev had Jannik Sinner under control for a long time in the second match of the day, leads with set and break, but had to fight off two break chances in the eighth game of the second set. Sinner kept up well in this phase - but then had to bow to the realization that Medvedev has many defensive qualities in addition to his attacking skills. The Australian Open finalist won after a playing time of 1:16 hours with 6: 2 and 6: 4.
In the semifinals on Saturday, Medvedev will not face his compatriot Karen Khachanov as expected, but Matthew Ebden. The Australian qualifiers defeated Khachanov 4-6, 6-4 and 6-2.
The two-time defending champion Stefanos Tsitsipas intervenes in the quarter-finals in the evening. Tsitsipas plays against Pierre-Hugues Herbert. The two French Artur Rinderknech and Ugo Humbert contest the last quarter-finals.
