It was a short 51 minutes without any real highlights between Nick Kyrgios and Taylor Fritz in the second round of the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati: The Australian - tired or bored, who knows - won 6: 3, 6: 2 of the local hero absolutely nothing to order and was catered to by the audience in the US state of Ohio with a catcall at the end of the game. Fritz now meets the Russian Andrey Rublev, who defeated Fabio Fognin in three sets.

Jannik Sinner had already made it into the round of 16, but benefited from a surrender by the Serb Miomir Kecmanovic at a score of 7: 5, 3: 1. The South Tyrolean now meets the Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, who eliminated the Australian Alex de Minaur 6: 3, 6: 2 at noon (local time).

Also in the round of 16 are John Isner, who knocked out Montreal finalist Hubert Hurkacz 7: 6 (5), 6: 7 (5), 6: 2, Denis Shapovalov with a 6: 3, -4: 6, -6: 3 success over Tommy Paul and, surprisingly, local hero and wildcard Ben Shelton. The 19-year-old from Atlanta, Georgia, took out number five Casper Ruud twice 6:3 from the race for the title.

Here the single tableau from Cincinnati.
