Carlos Alcaraz won the title at the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Indian Wells in a sovereign manner. The Spaniard beat Daniil Medvedev 6-3, 6-2, breaking the Russian's winning streak.

What a tournament by Carlos Alcaraz, what a performance in the final! The still 19-year-old Spaniard gave Daniil Medvedev no chance at all in the 6: 3 and 6: 2 in the final on Sunday and returns to the top of the ATP world rankings with this win. For Medvedev, the defeat against Alcaraz ended a series of 19 match wins in a row.

Alcaraz didn't drop a single sentence on his way to the title. And was accordingly satisfied at the award ceremony. Alcaraz said he was very happy to be back in first place. "But it means even more to me to lift the trophy here. I love this tournament. I'm enjoying my time here and of course I felt the love of the fans from day one. It's fantastic for me to end the ten days here like this ."
