If Nikoloz Basilashvili feels himself, then often no remedy has grown against him. In other phases, Basilashvili's balls land closer to the tarpaulin than to the baseline. The question is often: what predominates? In the quarter-finals of the Indian Wells ATP Masters 1000 tournament, it was the positive moments. And so Basilashvili went 6: 4, 2: 6 and 6: 4 as the winner from the court. In the semifinals on Saturday he will play either against Alexander Zverev or Taylor Fritz.

Tsitsipas gave up his first service game to zero and followed this deficit for the entire first set without success. In the second act, the favored Greek turned fortunes in his favor. In the decision, the momentum then changed permanently: Basilashvili advanced with a break, Tsitsipas equalized, only to give up the break to 3: 4 with his first double fault. Basilashvili wobbled briefly, but did not fall. And moved into the semi-finals of a 1000 event for the first time.

There will also be a debutant in this tournament stage in the second semifinals: Grigor Dimitrov and Cameron Norrie face each other. While the Bulgarian won a title at an ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Cincinnati in 2017, Norrie is at this level in the semifinals for the first time.
