ATP Masters Indian Wells: Rafael Nadal beats Sebastian Korda after a mega comeback!

"Houdini act" at the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Indian Wells: The 21-time Grand Slam winner Rafael Nadal beat the American Sebastian Korda in the second round of the desert classic after a double break deficit in set three with 6 :2, 1:6 and 7:6 (3) and thus achieved his 16th victory in his 16th match of the season.

After a sovereign first set, Nadal completely lost his thread, while Korda, on the other hand, improved continuously and served twice to win the match in the third round with a score of 5: 2 and 5: 4. However, the 21-year-old became noticeably nervous against his big idol and had to congratulate Nadal on his victory after a final tie-break. In round three, the Spaniard now meets the British Dan Evans, who only lost two games against Federico Coria.

Meanwhile, Daniil Medvedev had no problems. In his first match as the industry leader, the Russian defeated the Czech qualifier Tomas Machac completely unchallenged 6:3 and 6:2. He now has to deal with Gael Monfils or Filip Krajinovic.

In addition, the only 18-year-old Carlos Alcaraz extended his run of success: The Rio champion beat Mackenzie McDonald 6:3 and 6:3 and meets compatriot Roberto Bauitsta Agut in the third round. The 33-year-old saved two match points against JJWolf and won 6:3, 6:7 (3) and 7:6 (5).
