For national tennis coach Michael Kohlmann, Jan-Lennard Struff has by no means exhausted his potential with his surprising triumph in Madrid.

"If it were possible, I would buy Struff shares now," Kohlmann told SID: "There's still a lot left for him."
Struff (33) had entered the final against defending champion Carlos Alcaraz at the clay court masters in Madrid (today at 6.30 p.m. on Sky and in our live ticker). He returns to the top 30 in the world rankings, and the trend is rising, "because he hardly has any points to defend in the coming weeks and months," as Kohlmann stated.
Success for Struff's long-time companions does not come out of nowhere. "He has shown often enough that he is able to beat some good opponents. He also did that in the Davis Cup last year," said Kohlmann: "He was aware that he just never made it past two weeks to implement."
Kohlmann trusts Struff to have good French Opens
Struff succeeded in Madrid, who had lost in qualification but got a second chance when Lucky Loser got it. Among other things, the Warsteiner beat the Australian Open finalist Stefanos Tsitsipas. With the victories behind him and a seeding place in Paris, Kohlmann Struff also has a lot of confidence at the high point of the clay court season (from May 28th).
"Many factors speak for a good French Open. Jan-Lennard has a great position, many wins and a lot of self-confidence," said the Davis Cup team boss, but also warned: "Madrid is 700 m and is therefore much faster than other clay court tournaments . That suits him. But the clay courts are fast in Roland Garros too."
