ATP Masters Miami: Sinner handles Rublev, Fritz beats Rune

Jannik Sinner qualified for the quarter-finals of the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Miami with a convincing two-set win over Andrey Rublev . A little later , Taylor Fritz followed suit.

Gala performance by Jannik Sinner : The eleventh in the world rankings was the first player to reach the quarterfinals of the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Miami with a 6: 2 and 6: 4 win against Adnrey Rublev. The 21-year-old South Tyrolean didn't allow his opponent to break the ball throughout the match and only needed a little more than 70 minutes of play to win.

Sinner meets Botic van de Zandschulp or Emil Ruusuvuori in the round of the last eight. Last year, the Italian had to give up against Francisco Cerundolo in the Miami quarterfinals.

Shortly after Sinner, another player, Taylor Fritz, bought his quarter-final ticket. The American prevailed against the Danish youngster Holger Rune 6: 3 and 6: 4. He could now meet industry leader and defending champion Carlos Alcaraz. The Spaniard plays Tommy Paul in the round of 16.
