Jan-Lennard Struff celebrated his third win in a row in Miami

Both Struff and Altmaier had entered the main field through qualification. While Altmaier delivered a very mixed performance against Ilya Ivashka at 2: 6 and 1: 6, Struff defeated oldboy Fabio Fognini 6: 4, 5: 7 and 6: 4. As a reward, the Warsteiner can now play against Grigor Dimitrov.

The second German left in the tableau is Alexander Zverev. His opponent in round two will be Taro Daniel from Japan.
