Novak Djokovic will only play his second tournament this season in Monte Carlo. The world number one failed in the quarter-finals in Dubai, and the first title of the year should now follow in the Principality. After a bye, the Serb will meet Alejandro Davidovich Fokina or Marcos Giron in round two, and the first seeded opponent in the round of 16 could be Roberto Bautista Agut.

A real dream duel could happen in the quarterfinals: Djokovic could meet 18-year-old Miami champion Carlos Alcaraz. For his part, the Spaniard opens against Sebastian Korda or Botic van de Zandschulp. The second quarter is led by Casper Ruud and Cameron Norrie.

Zverev opens against Delbonis or qualifiers

As number two in the tournament, Alexander Zverev initially has to deal with Federico Delbonis or a qualifier. After that, however, a rocky road awaits the third in the world rankings: Pablo Carreno Busta, Alexander Bublik and Stan Wawrinka are blooming in the third round. Andrey Rublev and Jannik Sinner are possible quarter-final opponents of the German.

In the semifinals, Zverev could meet Stefanos Tsitsipas. However, the defending champion from Greece could already have to do with Fabio Fognini at the start. For this he had to win his first round duel against Arthur Rinderknech.
