Jo-Wilfried Tsonga will play the last match of the day on Center Court in Monte-Carlo today. The Frenchman's remaining career appearances can probably be counted on one hand.

Monday gets off to a good start in Monte-Carlo: Fabio Fognini, the 2019 champion, will open the week on Center Court. The opponent will be Arthur Rinderknech (from 11 a.m. live on TV and live stream on Sky), Fognini will not take the French lightly. However, a repeat of the sensational run from three years ago seems impossible. Fognini is more likely to be among the title candidates in doubles this year. In Monte Carlo he is missing with standard partner Simone Bolelli.

Speaking of which: The pair skating really picked up speed yesterday, Sunday, Alexander Zverev is trying again in the Principality alongside his buddy Marcelo Melo. As is well known, that didn't work out so well in Acapulco, but in Monte Carlo the start against Hubert Hurkacz went smoothly with 6: 4 and 6: 3. Next up are two proven experts, Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut.

Cilic will not give gifts against Tsonga

However, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga should get the most attention today. He will end his career after the French Open this year, and every performance by the former Australian Open finalist will hopefully be appreciated by the fans. However, Marin Cilic, Tsonga's opponent in Monte Carlo on Monday, will not be handing out gifts.

Only Jo-Wilfried Tsonga himself knows where the charismatic Frenchman will serve before Roland Garros. The 250cc event in Lyon in mid-May, not far from the headquarters of Tsonga's racket company, would definitely be an option.
