It will be the first meeting between the 25-year-old Italian and the 23-year-old German. Zverev's last appearance dates from the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Miami, where he lost to the Finn Emil Ruusuvuori at the beginning. Sonego celebrated its second tournament victory on the ATP tour last Sunday in Cagliari.
The match is scheduled as the fourth after 11 a.m. on Court Rainier III, so it should start around 3 p.m.
