Stefanos Tsitsipas is in the final of Monte Carlo

With victories over Dusan Lajovic, Hubert Hurkacz, Novak Djokovic and David Goffin, Dan Evans had made it to the semifinals in Monte Carlo in an impressive manner. In this, however, there was no herb against the world number five Stefanos Tsitsipas, the Greek won after 70 minutes of play with 6: 2 and 6: 1.

Serious doubts about the outcome of the game never really arose despite an even start on Court Rainier III. From a score of 3-2 in the first round, Tsitsipas won nine of the remaining ten games and deservedly secured a place in the Monte Carlo final.

Tsitsipas for first Masters 1000 title

The 22-year-old is in the third ATP Masters 1000 final of his career and could win the first title in this tournament category on Sunday. In the final, Tsitsipas will face Andrey Rublev or Casper Ruud.

For Evans, the Monte Carlo tournament could still end with a tournament win despite the loss to Tsitsipas. In the doubles competition he is at the side of his partner Neal Skupski in the semifinals.
