Who will win the title in Montreal?

The sixth ATP Masters 1000 tournament of the year will take place in Montreal next week: The draw for the event in the Canadian metropolis took place on Friday and promises a lot of excitement for the coming days - even if with Alexander Zverev, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic are missing three absolute top players.

The world number one Daniil Medvedev got an extremely difficult draw: after a bye at the beginning he could already face Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in round two. For that, the Australian would have to win his opening game against Sebastian Baez. Should Medvedev clear this hurdle, a duel against Grigor Dimitrov or Denis Shapovalov could await him.

The 26-year-old's potential opponent in the quarter-finals is Hubert Hurkacz, who in turn will initially play against Stan Wawrinka or Emil Ruusuvuori. Other top players in the upper half of the tableau are French Open finalist Casper Ruud, Felix-Auger-Aliassime and Cameron Norrie.

Early duel between Sinner and Berrettini?

In the third tableau quarter, there could be an Italian duel between Jannik Sinner and Matteo Berrettini in the round of 16. After that, one of the two could go against Stefanos Tsitsipas, who was third. The Greek meets a qualifier in round two.

The lower half is led by Carlos Alcaraz, who is only 19 years old. The Spaniard opens against Tommy Paul or Vasek Pospisil. The first seeded opponent of the fourth in the world rankings would be Marin Cilic, and Andrey Rublev is threatening as a quarter-final opponent.
