Novak Djokovic's appearance at the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Paris-Bercy is not yet certain

It's not the first time that the ATP indoor hard court tournament in Paris-Bercy is struggling to persuade one or the other top star to take part in the last Masters 1000 event of the year. Sure, the season is long, the shoe may already be pinching in different parts of the body and the energies for the ATP finals in Turin also want to be well divided.

Nick Kyrgios recently canceled his coming – the Australian did not give the exact reason. Alexander Zverev has now given the city of love a quick pass, and whether matador Rafael Nadal is actually making his way to the Accor Arena in Paris' 12th arrondissement can also be widely questioned.

"It is clear that he will play Turin, but..."

A player whose participation was generally expected could also not appear in the tournament grid. According to trainer Goran Ivanisevic, it is potentially unlikely that protégé Novak Djokovic will appear. In an interview with the Croatian daily Sportske novosti, the 2001 Wimbledon champion said: "It is clear that he will play in Turin, but it remains to be seen whether he will play in Paris before then."

In any case, it would be a bitter loss for the event in the French capital. Djokovic won the tournament last year with a three-set final win over Daniil Medvedev, so he would be the defending champion. The Serb has already won the event six times in total.
