Otte, who slipped into the main draw this week in Vienna as a lucky loser, but lost there to Daniel Evans, defeated the Spaniard Bernabe Zapata Miralles 6: 4 and 6: 1 in Paris-Bercy on Sunday. At least one German starter will tackle the last ATP Masters 1000 tournament of the year individually. Alexander Zverev would of course have qualified directly, but will only make his comeback in an exhibition fight in Saudi Arabia in December.
Otherwise, however, the entire world class is represented in Paris, led by industry leader Carlos Alcaraz. Novak Djokovic was probably the biggest favorite for the title.
