Lorenzo Musetti has to leave Toronto without having achieved anything

The ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Toronto will definitely take place without Lorenzo Musetti. The Italian had actually wanted to fight his way through the qualification, but now has to leave without having achieved anything. Because as the tournament officials announced, Musetti has left the “COVID-19 regulated environment”. And was therefore disqualified.

Musetti would have played against Emilio Gomez in round one of the qualification, who now meets substitute Max Purcell.

It's not the first time that a player has been removed from the controlled environment of a tournament: Stefanos Tsitsipas and his father Apostolos were so free in Miami but got away with a fine. Lorenzo Musetti first has to work out such a celebrity bonus.
