Andrey Rublev didn't let Marton Fucsovics stand a chance

"I hope that I won't play against you again this year". These were the words of Marton Fucsovics after he failed at Andrey Rublev in Rotterdam and Dubai. The 29-year-old's wish should not come true, however, as the two of them met again in the third round of the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Miami.

It quickly became clear why Fucsovics would have liked to save himself a duel with the world number eight: Rublev showed an impressive performance and left the Hungarian only three game wins. After only 52 minutes, the working day for the Russian youngster was already over successfully, 6: 2 and 6: 1 it was at the end from the 23-year-old's point of view.

Cilic and Raonic in the round of 16

In the round of 16 Rublev will now face Marin Cilic. The Croatian defeated the only 19-year-old Lorenzo Musetti 6: 3 and 6: 4 and thus achieved three wins en suite for the first time since the Australian Open 2020.

The past few months were not quite as dramatic for Denis Shapovalov, but the Canadian had to cope with an early break in Miami. Hubert Hurkacaz turned out to be too strong for the eleventh place in the world rankings in the third round with 6: 3 and 7: 6 (6) success. Hurkcaz now meets Milos Raonic, who defeated Ugo Humbert in straight sets.
