Sinner was well recovered from his marathon match against Karen Khachanov. After the match had started evenly, the South Tyrolean pulled through his attacking game consistently, pushing Ruusuvuori more and more on the defensive. The Finn had eliminated number three of the tournament in round two with Alexander Zverev. Sinner, however, was a size too big in Miami on Tuesday afternoon. And won 6: 3 and 6: 2.

And even in the quarter-finals, the task for Sinner will not be unsolvable: He will meet either Alexander Bublik or Taylor Fritz. In any case, the following applies: Jannik Sinner has never come as far as in Miami at a tournament in the ATP Masters 1000 category.

Isner and Bautista Agut deliver thrillers

What one cannot say about John Isner: The American won this tournament in 2018 - back then in Key Biscayne, in 2019 he was in the final at the first edition at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami and lost there to Roger Federer. So Isner is coping well with the situation in Florida. And delivered a real thriller with Roberto Bautista Agut.

Isner took the lead twice with a mini-break in the tiebreak of the third set, while Bautista Agut equalized each time. After a playing time of 2:14 hours, Isner hammered an ace into the field for the first match point, the Spaniard fended off. And used his second chance to 6: 3, 4: 6 and 7: 6 (7). Bautista Agut now plays either against Frances Tiafoe or tournament favorite Daniil Medvedev.
