ATP Montpellier: Andy Murray is defeated by Egor Gerasimov in round one
Andy Murray was eliminated in the first round of the ATP 250 tournament in Montpellier. The former world number one was defeated by Egor Gerasimov in two sets.

Andy Murray had probably imagined the start of the ATP season differently: The Scot, who had started his playing time at the Challenger level due to the corona-related waiver of the Australian Open , lost to Egor Gerasimov at the ATP 250 tournament in Montpellier with 6: 7 (8) and 1: 6.
In the tie-break of the first set, Murray came to a set ball, which the world ranking 83 knew. from Belarus but to fend off with a service winner. In the second round, the three-time Grand Slam winner then found no means to counter Gerasimov's powerful game.
The Austrian Dennis Novak had already asserted himself against Gilles Simon in three sets on the Center Court. Germany's Jan-Lennard Struff had to admit defeat to his compatriot Peter Gojowczyk . Roberto Bautista Agut is the tournament favorite, followed by David Goffin as number two.
