Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz won their first match together on the ATP tour. The two German Davis Cup players beat the two local heroes Gregoire Barrere and Quentin Halys 6: 4 and 6: 2 in the first round of the ATP Tour 250 tournament in Montpellier.

For Krawietz it was the first match after his baby break, Pütz had scored alongside Andreas Mies for a German point in the Davis Cup meeting that was ultimately lost against Switzerland. In Montpellier, the two are seeded in first place and now have to deal with two local heroes again, namely Fabrice Martin and Manuel Guinard.

Mies is also at the start in Montpellier, playing with his new Standard partner John Peers. Also interesting: Fabian Fallert and Hendrik Jebens, who won the title in Koblenz last week, are also entered in the 16-man tableau.

What also applies to the Austrian Davis Cup doubles: Alexander Erler and Lucas Miedler open against Sander Arends and David Pel. Meanwhile, Philipp Oswald has already been eliminated alongside Ramkumar Ramanathan.
