Third title for Gael Monfils in Montpellier

The triple is full, Gael Monfils can call himself Montpellier champion after a six-year break. The current ninth in the world rankings struggled 97 minutes against Vasek Pospisil, who only made his second final on the ATP tour to Washington 2014. Even then, Pospisil had left the field as a loser.

Both players will serve in Rotterdam next week. Monfils starts as defending champion and is in third place against Joao Sousa from Portugal, Pospisil has to start against tournament favorite Daniil Medvedev right at the start.

There was a premiere in doubles: Mate Pavic and Nikola Cacic won the title on their first start together on the ATP tour. The two Croatians defeated Dominic Inglot and Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureschi in the final 6: 4, 6: 7 (4) and 10: 4.
