If the current seeding list goes in the week from October 18th to October 24th, the spectators in the Russian capital should look forward to extremely welcome semi-final duels. On the entry list published on Tuesday for the ATP 250 event, four Russians appear at the top of the seeding list.

The field in Moscow is to be led by the newly crowned US Open champion Daniil Medvedev, who had already announced after his greatest career triumph to date that he wanted to contest a tournament in his home country despite the tight schedule. A start at the ATP 500 tournament in Vienna, however, the world number two had given a rejection on this occasion.

Medvedev versus Rublev - new edition?

The first pursuer is Andrey Rublev. The Russian, who has already advanced to fifth place in the world rankings, was also able to win the last duel with Medvedev, inflicting his only defeat on the world number two in this year's North American swing - in the semifinals in Cincinnati. The 23-year-old also has to defend his 2019 title in Moscow. In 2020 the event did not take place due to COVID-19.

The Russian quartet is completed by Aslan Karatsev and Karen Khachanov. After his sensational vertical start in the calendar year 2021, the former is currently lagging behind his form, while Khachanov is increasingly finding his way back to his old strength. There will also be non-Russian competition in Moscow, with Marin Cilic, Sebastian Korda, Alexander Bublik and Filip Krajinovic also appearing on the entry list.
