Struff has to wait for his first tournament victory on the ATP tour. The German Davis Cup player had reached the final in an individual for the first time in Munich after 170 attempts.

In the first set a break decided in favor of Basilashvili, in round two the serve went into the tiebreaker. There the Georgian took the lead 6: 4, but could not use his first match point on his own serve. A few moments later, Basilashvili nailed a forehand into the field and celebrated his fifth title on the ATP tour. His second to Doha this season.
