ATP Newport: Sebastian Ofner confidently moves into round two

Sebastian Ofner has to add a few more successes to get into the International Tennis Hall of Fame, but the Styrian got off to a good start at the lawn tournament at the Sports Hall of Fame. Ofner defeated the Japanese Yasutaka Uchiyama 6: 4 and 6: 4 and now faces a really tough opponent: It's against Kevin Anderson, the Wimbledon finalist of 2018. The grass in Newport seems to be Sebastian Ofner: In front the success against Uchiyama he had fought his way through qualifying with two three-set wins.
Jurij Rodionov, the second Austrian in the main field, was eliminated on Monday. Rodionov lost to Yuichi Sugita 5: 7 and 3: 6.
The seeding list at the traditional ATP Tour 250 tournament is headed by Alexander Bublik in front of Sam Querrey.
