It was the match that spectators in Milan had been waiting for the whole day: Frances Tiafoe against Jannik Sinner . The 18-year-old Italian, for example, has demonstrated his great talent at tournaments in Antwerp and Vienna over the past few weeks. Tiafoe, however, has long been at the top of the world and is in second place in the Italian metropolis behind Alex de Minaur.
Although the American caught the slightly better start and made passage one in a tiebreak, then Sinner showed his opponents the limits and won the match with an impressive performance even with 3: 4 (4), 4: 2, 4: 2 and 4: 2.
On Wednesday, South Tyrol's last match of the day (second game after 19:30 CET) will see Mikael Ymer, also victorious on Tuesday. The Swede defeated Ugo Humbert 4: 3 (2), 1: 4, 4.2 and 4: 2 in the first group B match.
In Group A, Alex de Minaur and Miomir Kecmanovic had already won their opening match in the afternoon . The two get together on Wednesday afternoon, before (from 14:00 CET), the two losers of the first day meet: Alejandro Davidovich Fokina calls for Casper Ruud.
